Oral Care Begins At A Young Age
Your child’s first baby teeth erupt around the age of 6 months. As they grow, their baby teeth fall out and are replaced by permanent teeth. During this period, your child is at risk of developing common dental issues, including cavities and gum infections. Habits like thumb-sucking or prolonged pacifier use can also impact the alignment of their teeth.
That’s why our dentists emphasize the importance of preventive dental care from a young age. The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends taking your child to a dentist as early as their first teeth appear. Apart from examining their teeth, we can also monitor your kid’s tooth eruption pattern, jaw development, and gum health.
As a part of children’s dentistry, our team will also guide your child about the right brushing and flossing techniques. This way, they can learn to take proper care of their oral health.
Services We Offer For Children’s Dentistry
As soon as you step into our clinic with your child, you’ll feel at ease. Our practice offers a warm and comfortable environment to let children feel relaxed during their dental visits. We offer complete pediatric dental services to maintain the precious smiles of your little ones.
- Pulpotomy If your child has cavities or their tooth is damaged, the infection may reach the inner pulp tissues. This can cause pain and chewing difficulty if left untreated. In this case, we recommend pulpotomy, also known as a ‘baby root canal.’ We will remove the damaged pulp while preserving their baby tooth. At the end, we will place a stainless steel crown to protect the tooth structure.
- Space Maintainers Premature loss of baby teeth can affect the alignment of your child’s teeth in the long run. The permanent teeth may erupt at odd positions, impacting your kid’s smile and oral health. To resolve this issue, we offer space maintainers. These small appliances can prevent the adjacent teeth from shifting and maintain adequate space for the permanent tooth to erupt.
- Stainless-Steel Crowns A basic component of children’s dentistry is to maintain your child’s primary teeth in good health until they fall out naturally. However, if a primary tooth gets damaged or decayed, we can save it by placing a stainless steel crown. They cover the tooth and offer protection against further damage. This way, your child’s teeth can grow and erupt in a normal pattern.
