L-PRF
As part of our commitment to providing you with quality dental care that will promote your long-term oral health, Citrus Smiles Dental Studio is pleased to offer Leukocyte-Platelet Rich Fibrin (L-PRF) at our office. L-PRF works to promote healing and bone growth from within your own body, giving you a faster recovery time and a more effective overall treatment. L-PRF is created using your own blood, making it a completely natural and biocompatible treatment.
Your blood contains four main ingredients – red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. The platelets are responsible for causing blood clotting and initiating the healing process, and they contain the proteins and growth factors that aid in healing and reduce inflammation. When you receive L-PRF, our dentists and team will perform a simple blood draw. The blood sample will then be spun using a centrifuge in order to separate the L-PRF clots. These clots can then be pressed to the ideal thickness and placed directly in or on surgical sites, where it will work with your body’s healing proteins to enhance the healing process and speed your recovery.
